ABL hires for biomedical jobs in Maryland
ABL said this week it has secured an important hire for biomedical jobs in Maryland.
ABL, or Advanced BioScience Laboratories, Inc, is a biomedical contract research and manufacturing organization.
The Maryland-based biomedical contract research and manufacturing organization is dedicated to advancing vaccines, therapeutics and other biologic products. ABL has extensive experience working with diverse organizations, including various government and academic entities and commercial biopharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Claire Zhang has been brought on to lead its downstream bioprocessing group.
Before joining ABL, Dr. Zhang was the Head of Downstream Development and Manufacturing at Intercell, Inc., working on multiple vaccine platforms including recombinant proteins and virus-like particles. She directed teams carrying out process development, scale-up production, process characterization using Design of Experiments (DOE), and GMP manufacturing for toxicology and Ph I to Ph III production. Prior to her time at Intercell, Dr. Zhang worked for Human Genome Sciences, Inc. and IBEX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Dr. Zhang holds a Ph.D. degree from the Universite Paris VII and a B.Sc. from the University of Nanjing.
“I am very pleased to welcome Dr. Zhang to the ABL team,” said Beth Tebeau, Director of Manufacturing. “Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to advance our Process Development capabilities to better meet the project requirements for quality and yield that are so critical to the success of early stage clinical manufacturing.”
