Jobs in Maryland are growing

According to a new survey from Manpower, jobs in Maryland are experiencing significant growth, especially in the Baltimore area.

Recently ManpowerGroup surveyed more than 18,000 employers in 100 metropolitan areas to find out who’s hiring, who’s firing and who plans to maintain their current staff levels in the fourth quarter of 2011, October through December.

In Baltimore-Townson, twenty percent of that metro area’s hiring managers anticipate a bright fourth quarter.

Seven percent expect to terminate workers, 71 percent anticipate no change and 2 percent are uncertain. (more…)

Hyrell Partners announces partnership to improve Pennsylvania jobs

Hyrell Partners, a web-based hiring solution, announced this week the launch of a distribution and content partnership with Criteria Corp, a move that will improve onboarding for Pennsylvania jobs.

Criteria Corp is a provider of pre-employment testing services.

The move is expected to not only affect Pennsylvania jobs, but also jobs nationwide, including Atlanta jobs.

Recruiting jobs in Washington, D.C. on the rise

According to new research, recruiting jobs in Washington, D.C. are climbing.

Over the past 90 days, more than 14,000 new jobs were advertised online for Recruiters, according to WANTED Analytics™ (www.wantedanalytics.com), the leading source of real-time business intelligence for the talent marketplace. Despite rising unemployment, hiring demand has steadily increased by 20% from the same 90-day period in 2010 and by more than 130% from 2009.

Employers and staffing firms in the New York area had the largest demand for Recruiters, with about 1,300 new jobs advertised online over the past 90 days. This represents a 2% growth from the same 90-day period in 2010. Chicago saw the second highest hiring demand with 670 Chicago recruiting jobs. Washington, DC was not far behind with the third largest demand and about 660 ads. (more…)

A long-standing company has been sold, a move that may cause in the loss of Pennsylvania jobs.

After a very successful 45 years, Leo Kane has sold the company he founded in 1966, the Credit Management Company. The company is one of Pennsylvania’s largest and most successful accounts receivables management companies, with clients throughout North America. Its major client base includes hospitals and medical facilities in Western Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia area and Virginia. Other clients include credit unions, governments and education.

Financial firm hires for Washington jobs

Fisher Investments has announced it is recruiting for Washington jobs.

Fisher Investments plans to continue hiring in its Vancouver, Washington office throughout the spring and summer months of 2011. Of the firm’s 1000+ employees, approximately 350 are based in its Vancouver offices, with most of the remaining staff working from the offices and current headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Grocer hiring for cashier jobs in Maryland

C&S Whole sale Grocers has announced it will be hiring for cashier jobs in Maryland, among other positions.

C&S is looking to fill positions at its Aberdeen, Upper Marlboro, and North East locations.

Online retail giant Amazon is hiring for seasonal jobs in Pennsylvania.

Amazon.com, Inc. today announced that SMX Staffing and Integrity Staffing Solutions are seeking to hire more than 4000 holiday positions for the Amazon fulfillment centers in Pennsylvania, operated by Amazon.com.dedc LLC. The fulfillment centers are located in Hazleton, Carlisle, Allentown and Lewisberry, Pa.

Candidates should be highly motivated with drive, ambition and a passion for providing customers a first-class shopping experience. Available positions include full-time and part-time roles in Picking, Packing and Receiving/Shipping and will require standing, walking and lifting on a regular basis.
